As pure beings, we feel that this existence is our playground, and anything could be achieved, materialized, realized. There might be two meanings of potentiality here. The first is logical; all possible ways things could be. The second is creative; the felt power of imagination, freedom, and inner potency. Maybe inner felt freedom is how logical possibility appears from the inside of a conscious being? Is this why it does feel like magic when you identify with spirit? Because in mind and in imagination, the spirit is pure potential, truly free. There is nothing it cannot achieve. All the options are available to it. Maybe this is why we have the feeling of free will.

At the same time and on the other hand, it feels like we are trapped in the material world of pure necessity. This is why the notion of determinism resonates in our reasoning, the feeling that we can’t do otherwise, that we are prisoners and observers of our destiny. Only one path appears to materialize, out of necessity. Only one world is-and-will-be real.

Are all sensations and freedom the potentiality ITSELF trapped inside the necessity of the body and the world? It might be the one and eternal being, the pure potential expressing and/or playing itself throughout the various instances of pure potential? Still, a deeper question remains: why would the eternal being WANT to play? Is it out of free will or out of necessity?
