As beings in the world, we feel (regardless of what the case might be) that this existence is open-ended and different paths could be materialized or realized.

Maybe felt free will is possibility itself, appearing from inside a conscious being? In the mind and imagination, the spirit is pure potential, truly free. There are many paths it can take, and many options are available to it.

At the same time, it feels like we are trapped in the material world of pure necessity. This is why the notion of determinism resonates in our reasoning, the feeling that we can’t do otherwise, that we are prisoners and observers of our destiny. Only one path appears to materialize, out of necessity. Only one world is and will be real.

Are all sensations and freedom the potentiality itself, trapped inside the necessity of the body and the world? It might be the one eternal being, pure potential expressing or playing itself throughout the various instances of pure potential. Still, a deeper question remains: why would the eternal being want to play? Is it out of free will or out of necessity?
